What is a springform pan?

A springform pan is a specialized pan where sides can be removed from the base. It consists of two parts. First, a circular base, and second, a removable side that can be unlatched. This is especially used for delicate desserts such as cheesecakes which may damage if removed upside down.

These desserts might be spoiled while removing from the regular pan if not properly taken care of. Springform pan allows easy removal, ensuring the desserts look as good as they look in the pan.

I recall baking the mango cheesecake for the first time for a family gathering. I made the recipe and carefully poured the cheesecake batter into the pan, feeling both excited and nervous as it was my first time using such a pan.

After it was baked, I allowed the cheesecake to cool down completely and then I removed the latch of the springform pan. The cheesecake came out beautifully. Hurrayyyyy! It was a total hit a the gathering and that's how I began to bake the cheesecakes :)

If you don't have a springform pan and thinking am I going to miss out on this delicious dessert? Not at all. I have covered a variety of ways to make them using a regular pan.
