Red velvet milkshake ingredients

Here is a list of ingredients to make a tasty milkshake. You can find the detailed recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete list with their exact quantities.

  • Red velvet ice cream – I am using my homemade red velvet ice cream. It is ok to use store-bought red velvet ice cream but I really feel the homemade ice cream will give deep flavor.
  • Milk – Use regular full-fat milk. You can also use skim milk or 2% milk if you want to save just a few calories 🙂 but I would recommend using whole milk for a rich and creamy milkshake. If you want to go for the vegan option, have a look at substitutes.
  • Sugar - This is to add sweetness. This is also referred to as caster sugar or granulated sugar.

Any substitute?

  • Vegan or dairy-free - Use soy milk or any nut milk to make a dairy-free version. Use in exact quantities as whole milk.

Tools needed

  1. Weighing scale - to weigh ingredients.
  2. Blender - To make milkshake.

How to serve?

This must be served refrigerated; otherwise, it will melt. It will not have any impact on the test, but eating a thick milkshake is a distinct experience. Do you agree?

Storing and freezing instructions for red velvet milkshake recipe

I would not recommend storing or freezing this. It is best enjoyed fresh because it takes little time to prepare and is ready in just 2 minutes.

Secret tips to make best red velvet milkshake recipe

  • Serve Chilled – This tastes best when chilled. Simply combine all of the ingredients together and serve immediately. You can also serve in a cold glass, which will stay chilled for longer.
  • Soft vanilla ice cream – To easily integrate red velvet ice cream with additional ingredients, simply set it outside for 5 to 10 minutes. If you're in a rush, microwave it for 8 to 10 seconds before blending it with the remaining ingredients.

FAQ's

  • Can I make this sugar-free red velvet milkshake? Of course. Have a look at the substitutes mentioned in the recipe.
  • Can I use ice cubes to make it thicker? No. Ice cubes will chill the milkshake but also thin it, therefore I do not recommend them. Red velvet ice cream and cooled milk are enough to make it thick.
